Our impact
The Impact of the Digital Inclusion for Underserved Youth initiative is numerous and far-reaching. By closing the technology gap and providing access to digital opportunities, underserved youth have experienced the following outcomes
Increased digital literacy
Over 250 Underserved youths from slum communities around Kampala have been equipped with fundamental digital literacy skills, including basic computer usage, internet navigation, and online safety, enabling them to become active participants in the digital economy.
Enhanced educational opportunities
With access to online educational platforms, e- learning resources, and certified courses, underserved youth have broadened their educational opportunities and advanced their knowledge and skills
Improved career prospects
Through mentorship programs and exposure to tech- related fields, underserved youth have explored career pathways and developed the skills and knowledge required to pursue job opportunities in the technology sector.
Increased access to technology
By providing access to laptops, tablets, and internet connectivity, underserved youth have overcome financial barriers and gained access to digital opportunities that were previously unavailable to them
Increased creativity and innovation
Through engagement in coding workshops, STEM challenges, and digital content creation, underserved youth have developed their creativity and innovative thinking, empowering them to create meaningful and impactful digital projects
Greater community engagement
By organizing tech fairs, coding bootcamps, and other community events, underserved youth have become more engaged in their local communities and developed a sense of excitement and curiosity about technology
Coding Bootcamps and Tech Camps
We implement coding bootcamps and tech camps during school breaks, offering intensive learning experiences. We engage professional instructors and industry experts to facilitate hands-on coding sessions and technology projects.
Community Tech Ambassadors / Fellowship Program
We train and empower a group of underserved youth as community tech ambassadors. We task them with spreading awareness, assisting peers with technology adoption, and organizing local tech-related events.
Evaluation And Certification
We implement assessment mechanisms to measure the progress of participants in acquiring digital skills. We provide certifications for completing digital literacy courses and achieving proficiency milestones.
Fundraising and Donation Campaigns.
We organize fundraising and donation campaigns through charity Galas and Dinners, Charity Runs/Walks/Rides, Themed Events and Community Festivals that raise awareness and encourage donations, sponsorships and funding projects
Closing the digital divide
By providing access to technology and digital opportunities, underserved youth can bridge the digital divide and participate more fully in the digital economy, contributing to a more equitable, just and inclusive society.
